Miss Hitty
This doll is a copy of the 1934 original owned by Dougless Strickland Bitler.
The doll is a 5 1/2" China Head with
porcelain arms and legs. The body is made of muslin. The
shoulder plate is numbered and has the artist's mark incised. The dress is make of
100% cotton lawn and is removable. She also wears a lawn petticoat and
pantalettes. Future clothes will be by special order. Miss Hitty is packaged
in a lined, lidded and latched willow basket.
A limited edition of 100 will be authenticated with a signed certificate specifying the registered number.
The cost of this doll is $250.00 plus $7.00 postage. Fifty dollars reserves your doll.
Little Tooey Good Shoes
Tooey is Miss Hitty's long lost doll. Based on a recent
chapter from Miss Hitty's journal, Tooey was found while unpacking an old crate. She
was safely resting in a lidded basket, among the folds of an elderdown comforter.
She is made of Parian porcelain and is a petite 2". Her hair is china painted honey brown with a pink hair band. Her petticoat and pantalettes are made of fine batiste and edged with delicate lace. Her dress is made of pink bataste and trimmed with fine French lace in perfect scale. She is signed with Joan's artist mark, numbered and dated. Each Tooey is presented in a lined lace trimmed 4 1/2" hand woven lidded basket, decorated by Dougless. Cost is $190.00 plus $7.00 packaging, postage and insurance.
